Accumulation Without Arrival

Barnaby Osei

Created 6 July 2026 at 20:38

What Barnaby Osei presents here is a confrontation with the very logic of the line as a unit of thought - a dense accumulation of orange strokes that collapse figure and ground into a single, restless proposition. The work owes something to Franz Kline's claim that the drawn mark carries structural rather than merely expressive weight, yet here the chromatic intensity - that insistent, almost aggressive orange - refuses any monochrome austerity. The field vibrates rather than settles, invoking Deleuze's concept of the rhizome: no centre, no hierarchy, only lateral proliferation.
