Entangled Lines in Tension
James Volkov
A gestural contour emerges through confident strokes, its curved form suggesting organic life arrested mid-movement. The heavy black line varies in weight, thickening at points of tension before tapering towards resolution. Scattered dots punctuate the surrounding void, creating spatial ambiguity - are they debris, stars, or markers of scale? Within the exhibition's framework of affection, this abbreviated figure proposes that love might reside not in complete representation but in the essential shape of a thing, reduced to its most vital outline.
