Waterfall Into Churning Blue

The white void at the centre of this work operates less as negative space than as a kind of phenomenological pressure - a blankness that forces the surrounding blue and crimson fields into heightened optical confrontation. Per Kirkeby's geological abstractions proceed on a similar principle, where landscape is less depicted than sedimented. Kendilcave's looping purple contours anchor a scene simultaneously naive and cosmologically ambitious.
