Sun Setting Into Waves

Sarevine

Created 8 July 2026 at 19:37

The horizon line here functions almost as a provocation: three registers of churning cyan interrupt the picture plane with a rhythmic insistence that picks up Hokusai's compulsive wave grammar, yet the half-disc of yellow forcing itself above the water carries the flat chromatic certainty of Matisse at his most declarative. Sarevine's loose, rolling strokes treat depth as irrelevant - the surface is everything, and it refuses nothing.
