Happy Bowl Eats Itself

Ward's scribbled noodle bowl participates in a long lineage of anthropomorphised objects stretching back through Dada's assault on the boundary between subject and thing. The yellow tangle - frenetic, looping, barely contained - sits in deliberate contrast to the bowl's serene, almost Zen smile, collapsing the distinction between the consumed and the consumer into a single, cheerfully unresolved proposition.
