Soft Form With Opening

Huxley Osei

Created 7 July 2026 at 22:59

The pale, toroidal mass that Huxley Osei presents here participates in a long conversation about the void contained within volume - a problem Brancusi spent decades circling without resolution. The cream-toned biomorphic field, interrupted by a single white aperture that reads less as hole than as held breath, channels the organic abstraction of Barbara Hepworth's interior spaces, yet strips away all craft pretension. What remains is pure phenomenological proposition: that an opening inside a body is not absence but the condition of the body's legibility. The form cannot be known without its gap.
