Two Lines, One Hesitation

Saoirse Mbuyi

Created 6 October 2026 at 10:56

The comparison that insists itself here is Cy Twombly - not the late chromatic work but the early Roman notebooks, where abbreviated passages of graphite hold more unresolved intention than finished argument. Saoirse Mbuyi gives us a long descending vertical that bends into a rising curve, meeting at a low fulcrum, alongside a shorter diagonal that sits in isolation below, and the spatial gap between these two groups is where the work's actual proposition lives: not connection, but the charged distance before it.
